The Journey
My life was crazy growing up. I let people know where I came from so that they may get a better understanding of my passion.
From about three years old, my Grandmother raised me. Grandma did the best she could, but we were poor! We were so poor that the poor folks felt sorrow for us. I started running with a gang of about 100 guys when I was 12 years old. I got stabbed in the back in a street fight when I was 14 years old. My first of many trips to jail began when I was 15. I was on probation the first of 2 or 3 times when I was 16 years old.
I never knew my Mom or Dad until I was 16 years old. I started running a nightclub, gambling and selling illegal liquor when I was 18 years old. I was shot at on at-least three different occasions. One guy shot at me six times with a pistol and missed six times. Another guy shot at me twice with a double shot - gun and missed me. Another guy shot at me once with a single barrel shot – gun and missed me. It is a miracle that I am alive.
I surrendered my life to Christ December 12, 1970. The Lord called me to the ministry in the summer of 1971. I was ordained in November 1972. I’ve preached on the mission field, under tents, in Convention Halls, in churches, in auditoriums, community halls, on television, on radio and every place the Gospel could be heard. It didn’t matter; I’ve had to tell men about Jesus Christ! The gospel of Jesus Christ is not just about big business; it is about establishing the Kingdom of God in the heart of men!
I have had the privilege of knowing Jesus Christ and winning thousands of souls to Him in 50 years of ministry.
